One thing that hasn’t changed dramatically with this year’s makeover of the Buick Encore GX is the car’s overall silhouette and proportions. It’s a compact SUV by any measure, which is precisely what most people want today. The Encore GX’s grille sees drastic changes, especially the lowered bumper that will lead many onlookers to believe this is an all-electric model. Condensed into a tri-crest that looks like three teeth at first glance, the brand’s iconic emblem gets its makeover and looks superb on the new packaging.

An omnipresent 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster and an easy-to-read 11.0-inch touchscreen dominate the front cabin, providing the driver with all the information they want to see and plenty they might not even have thought of. The ST trim level makes the all-new 2024 Encore GX look even sportier with its flat-bottomed steering wheel, black roof (optional), and black highlights. With lots of shiny chrome on the outside and two-tone leather seats inside, the Avenir takes a more upscale approach appropriate for a model of this stature.

All-New 2024 Buick Encore GX Powertrains and Engine Performance

All versions of the new Encore GX produce 155 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque from the inline-three turbocharged 1.3-liter engine. The turbocharger helps the low-displacement engine produce peak torque more quickly and maintain it across a broader range of engine speeds. This results in the driver enjoying a more engaging and responsive experience from the Encore.

The all-new Encore GX is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. All-wheel drive coupled with a nine-speed automatic gearbox are standard on the Sport Touring (ST) and Avenir. The front-wheel-drive, CVT-equipped Preferred grade is the base version of the compact Buick crossover, but you can upgrade with the nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive the ST and Avenir get standard.

A tempting package

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring (ST), and Avenir. The Buick Driver Confidence package is included at every level, as are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, HD rear vision camera, an 11-inch infotainment system, and an 8-inch driver cluster screen from Buick’s Virtual Cockpit System (VCS). The Sport Touring grade adds a youthful and dynamic vibe to an attractive vehicle with its high gloss black front and rear bumpers, LED taillights, and optional Black Roof Package. The sporty deal gets confirmed with a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel and unique ST emblems.

The Avenir trim is the apex of the Buick Encore GX lineup, with a unique Avenir grille, clear lens LED taillights, and 19-inch Avenir-specific alloys. The premium trim’s interior is an amazing Whisper Beige and Jet Black Black colour combination with leather upholstery, front seats that are adjustable in eight ways (including power lumbar), a heated steering wheel, a fine dust air filter, an automatic dimming rearview mirror, and Avenir logo embroidery on the headrests and door sills.
