New 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 for Sale in Thornhill, ON

It’s almost impossible to be all things to all people. But the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size light-duty pickup truck that comes pretty close. After an impressive redesign last year, the Sierra 1500 can be anything from a no-nonsense, hard-working friend of contractors to a luxury status symbol and anything in between.

The Sierra is every inch the classic, blocky, full-size truck that looks like it means business, and it does. Base models can look perfectly at home on the worksite, but high-end models wouldn’t look out of place pulling up outside a glamorous movie premiere. Of course, it can also be a superb family vehicle or specified to be a formidable off-roader. As long as you don’t need more than six seats, the 2024 Sierra 1500 can be a genuine alternative to almost any vehicle you want to mention. Updates for the 2024 Sierra include the 305-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six Duramax diesel now becoming the standard powertrain for the AT4X trim level. There are also a couple of new wheel options, new exterior colors such as Downpour metallic and Thunderstorm Gray, and the 2.7-litre inline-four engine has been rebadged as the TurboMax.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 presents shoppers with four engine options. The base engine is no longer a fleet-focused unit that retail shoppers are likely to overlook, as it’s a superb 2.7-litre turbo-four that brings 310 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque to the party. If a more traditional larger displacement engine is preferable, the second option is a 5.3-litre V-8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque that certainly fits the bill. Once you venture to the SLT trim level or higher, you’re at the point where the magnificent 6.2-litre V-8 becomes available with its 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

Although the final option, like last year, is a 3.0-litre Duramax inline-six turbodiesel available for every model from the SLE trim and higher, it’s a more powerful version than previously offered. This one develops 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft. of torque, which is 28 horsepower and 35 lb.-ft. more than its predecessor. Depending on your choice of engine, drivetrain, and trim level, the power goes to the rear or all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic or one of four different ten-speed autos.
